dc.description.abstractWe propose a facile and robust carbohydrate-mediated method for the prevention of nanoparticle induced denaturation and aggregation of proteins. Using label-free plasmon-enhanced Raman spectroscopy measurements, the mechanistic principles of trehalose stabilization in a model protein-nanoparticle system are elucidated for the first time, facilitating its further application in diagnostic and therapeutic nanoplex development.en_US
