Abstract: In supramolecular chemistry, the control of helicity is an attractive challenge. It is an important step towards understanding biological homochirality and function. It can also be utilized for possible development of novel chiral functional materials that could be used in the synthesis, sensing and separation of enantiomers. One of the recent design strategies to construct supramolecular helical polymers is by the use of achiral monomers and chiral auxiliaries. In this strategy, generally the achiral monomers are functionalized with specific receptor motifs, to bind with chiral auxiliary (guest) molecules. Further, the achiral monomers can exist in their monomeric state or in racemic stacks form, which on binding with the chiral guest molecules will transform into homochiralsupramolecular assemblies. This chapter will summarize various chiral auxiliary design strategies reported in literature for the construction of helical supramolecular polymer.
