Dielectric and magnetic properties of selected rare earth ferrites, LnFe(2)O(4) (Ln=Y,Er,Yb), have been investigated. All these materials show ferroelectricity near the ferrimagnetic transition temperature around 250 K. More importantly, they exhibit a change in the dielectric behavior on the application of magnetic fields. (c) 2008 American Institute of Physics.en_US
