The structural organization of eukaryotic chromatin plays an important role both in packaging DNA within the nucleus and in modulating various DNA transaction processes. In the last decade, we have seen rapid advances in our understanding of how the chromatin structure is altered to facilitate important nuclear events such as transcription, replication, recombination, repair and many more. Several key players have been identified that participate in manifesting these important nuclear processes. In this short review we have summarized salient features of the mechanisms by which this chromatin remodeling occurs.en_US
