dc.description.abstractTwo simple one-dimensional cobalt phosphates containing linear chains of corner-shared 4-membered rings have been synthesized hydrothermally by the reaction between amine phosphates and cobalt(II) ions under non-aqueous conditions. The linear chains are held together by hydrogen bond interactions involving the hydrogens of the amine and the framework oxygens. The two cobalt phosphates reported are the first linear chain compounds discovered in the family of open-framework transition metal phosphates.en_US
