Abstract:
When the light interacts with matter, various phenomena, such as absorption,
reflection, transmission, refraction, scattering and so on occur according to the crystal
structure and properties of the materials. The study of interaction of light with the
materials helps to perceive important information about the electronic and structural
properties. Spectroscopy is the technique which makes use of the interactions of
electromagnetic radiation with matter, to determine the chemical and physical nature of
the material under study. The intensity of the output radiation as a function of wavelength,
frequency, or energy is called the spectrum hence the name Spectroscopy [1].
