Numerical studies of low energy behaviour of a few spin ladders and magnetic field effects in heavy fermions

Abstract

The underlying theme thoughout this thesis is the study of materials belonging to the class of strongly correlated electronic systems (SCES). These are systems where the coulomb interaction energy due to electron repulsion is comparable or greater then the kinetic energy.
