Abstract:
"Chromatin consists of nucleic acids and histone proteins. Histones are the major protein
component of chromatin. They are small basic proteins and highly conserved in
eukaryotes. Four types of core histone proteins namely, H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 package
and organize DNA into nucleosomes which are the fundamental units of chromatin
(RICHMOND and DAVEY 2003; VAN HOLDE 1988)."
